Following recent amendments to the Deeds Registries Act, Change within the Deeds Office.
Per Chief Registrar’s Circular (CRC) 3 of 2025, the lodgement of Form LLL is now a strict requirement for all transactions to facilitate accurate national statistics and land audits.
Key Compliance Requirements
To ensure seamless processing and avoid rejection of deeds, please take note of the following guidelines regarding Form LLL:
Mandatory Submission: The form must accompany every transaction lodged with the Deeds Office. This requirement is retroactive for all matters since 5 April 2025.
Authorization: The document must be duly completed and signed by either the Transferee or the Conveyancer.
Demographic Data: The form requires the disclosure of race and gender. This data is strictly utilized for government statistical purposes and land auditing.
Requirements for Juristic Persons
Where the transferee is a legal entity—such as a Company, Close Corporation (CC), or Trust—the form requires additional detail. The signatory must disclose the majority race, gender, and nationality of the relevant shareholders, members, or beneficiaries.
Note for Instructing Attorneys
For correspondent matters, instructing attorneys are requested to provide a completed copy of Form LLL in their instruction package. This ensures the conveyancer can prepare and lodge the original document containing the exact information provided in the signed copy.
